Tapestry of Light
I am sipping my coffee today, which is from Germany. The cup was made in China.
I’m still thinking about my new doctor, and how kind he was. He’s from Egypt, and my husband’s new doctor is an Israeli.
I met my new doctor after eating the best Italian food I had ever eaten, which is somewhere near the old Mexican restaurant, across town.
I sent a voice message to my buddy in Tonga, last night. It actually worked, and I love the technology from Japan.
If I’m very lucky, a wonderful woman from India will leave me a comment today, and share her perspective.
Or, my little buddy from Bahrain might stop by, and share his new discovery.
When my vacation is over, the most perfect secretary in the world, from the Philippines, will have my paperwork ready to sign. And, maybe I’ll see the dance instructor from Africa again, and help him out with the new book he’s writing.
And, just writing this article is making me smile. The colors that surround my life are my greatest delight, and each new shade and texture only adds more brilliance to the sparkling landscape of my little world.
My little town of Apollo yawns this morning, and the little feet of its citizens pitter patter to their jobs. And, with each footstep, they pattern the streets with more designs. Our quiet Middle Easterners, who run the local market, murmur their greetings. The cranky old dry cleaner, from the Bronx, tells a joke that no one understands.
But, they smile at his humor. And, just feel better for having visited this strange, little town on the edge of nowhere…

And, as I listen to music from France, I thank you

As a child the world was only accessible through the pages of my books and the TV screen. Today, thanks to the web and airplanes, I have friends from Ohio, Rhode Island, Arizona, Illinois, Tennessee, New York, Maine, New Zealand, Australia, England, Germany, India, and Japan, just to name a few. I live in the deep Southern U. S. A.in Arkansas and most of my friends from my home town (I wasn’t raised here in Hot Springs, AR but I have spent 20 years living here.) are Yankees from Michigan, Minnesota and Illinois. Hot Springs is a tourist and retirement town. We have much warmer weather so we get a lot of transplants from up North who are tired of the cold and the snow. I love the world we live in today. In learning about others, I always learn more about myself.

And all the colors and textures, create such beauty by their contrast. Thank you, Patricia

And what fireworks we have in our little neck of the woods!
I thought of you and David Saturday. Wondered if you were sitting somewhere *outside* the madness on post, watching.
We *are* lucky to live here, T. And I want to thank you for helping me remember that the tapestry is multi-hued — and this is a reason for celebration, not fear or suspicion. Thank you.
