Winter House

A Winter House

We are heading into the time of year that most people, if they were completely honest, dread. I notice it in many people’s eyes.  That sad, downcast look that implies words that are rarely spoken, but are always touching the lips, waiting to be freed.

The Holidays.

As we all know, this time of year can be bittersweet for many people, for various reasons.  Ultimately, causing depression and loneliness.

Personally, I have learned to spend the holidays in my Winter House.  It’s a beautiful home that I built several years ago.  It’s far away, and a perfect getaway for the entire season.

And, it was free.

This Winter House, is in my heart.  I go there when the weather starts getting cold.  And, I stay there until spring.  I spend Thanksgiving there.

And, Christmas.

And, I only invite people into my Winter House, who I love.  It is warm, and cozy.  And, it is mine.

So, if you start feeling sad during this upcoming season, find yourself a Winter House.  Stay there for the season.

And, maybe, if we’re all lucky, you’ll come back in the spring…
